Camborne Forge

This project included the renovation of 3 redundant buildings formally a garden centre and before that Railtrack buildings along with the construction of 4 new semi-detached houses.

The overall principle of the project is to provide minimal intervention to the existing buildings and locating the new buildings to the perimeter of the site to maximise the central open courtyard area which could be used by the residents.

With the new build element we used materials such as blue engineering brick on the plinth so they had some uniformity with the existing railway station building along with ceder cladding to give them a more industrial but modern feel.

The planning process involved intensive talks with the conservation officer and the project benefitted from a THI grant

THIS PROJECT  WON A COMMENDATION FROM THE CORNISH BUILDING GROUP.
